INFRASTRUCTURE
Inter-Port Global is a leading force in developing and managing critical infrastructure across the logistics and transportation sectors.
IPG's primary endeavour is known as Project Velocity, a privately financed, fully integrated port-to-rail-to-inland logistics system that has been designed to transform Gladstone and the regional economy. Working closely with local landowners and stakeholders across all levels of government, Project Velocity is seeking to utilise proven and aligned capability to expand Australia's eastern seaboard container capacity without transferring congestion, cost or operational risk to surrounding communities.
IPG’s rail-first, demand led operating model is designed to deliver high berth productivity, safe and consistent operations, and low on wharf container dwell times. By structurally decoupling landside logistics from waterfront operations, the model improves throughput reliability and reduces variability for shipping lines.
It does this while providing an alternative east coast container gateway that strengthens national supply chain resilience and disaster recovery capability. This approach unlocks untapped regional freight potential across agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and energy precincts, lowering logistics costs for exporters and importers and improving the competitiveness of Central Queensland supply chains.
Australian ports are facing long term structural challenges in container capacity, driven by growing freight volumes, larger vessel sizes, labour constraints and infrastructure that is increasingly operating at or near design limits. Forecast growth of more than three million twenty foot equivalent units (TEU) on the east coast over the next decade will place further pressure on existing port, rail and road networks unless new, structurally integrated capacity is developed.
Beyond the wharf line IPG is already collaborating with a large array of key stakeholders to develop the regional supply chain to support economic growth.
These activities include:
- Shipping Activation with regular servicing commencing over the coming months through Gladstone and Darwin and into South East Asia
- Inland Port and Landside Logistics Enablement (Calliope Station)
- Workforce, Accommodation and Regional Capacity
- Cold Storage, Energy and Sustainability
- Community, First Nations and Stakeholder Engagement
Ports
This includes both quayside wharf redevelopment and the development of an Inland Port at Calliope Station, 48kms west of Gladstone and a commercial partnership with the CQ Inland Port in Emerald.
Growing capacity and trade volumes
Increasing speed to market for primary producers, manufacturers and exporters
Decreasing time and costs of imported freight/goods
Growing the economy
Providing a stimulus to regional Australia
Paving the way for decentralised affordable housing
Creating regional sustainable jobs
Reducing CO2 Emissions
New Energy and Industrials
Current initiatives include:
The planned development of a 35MW Substation and 125M (500MWhr) BESS to support critical infrastructure in Gladstone.
Development of a 48,000 square metre Cold Storage Warehousing and Reefer Container handling facility to support greater local export capability for CQ primary producers
Industrial Park development to attract advanced manufacturing tenancies in areas including organic mineral fertiliser production, modular construction, Heavy Vehicle EV charging and waste stream initiatives that further advance circular economies
Traditional Fuel Storage and Bio Fuels processing capabilitiesDefence and Explosive warehousing opportunities

Shipping
Planned to commence operations mid 2026, with 3 x 1700 TEU vessels operating a 3 times monthly regular service. Calling at the ports of Newcastle, Gladstone, Darwin, Surabaya and Port Klang the schedule will provide same day week services.
Cargoes destined for Global markets outside of Asia will tranship onto international feeder shipping services aligned with IPG operations.
Schedules and the vessel’s TEU capacity will grow in line with market growth and cargo volumes.
Trans Tas Service
IPG Shipping’s trans-Tasman service has been established to primarily serve the breakbulk and specialist cargo market between Australia and New Zealand v.v.
Launching in March 2026 and utilising modern, multipurpose, geared vessels, the service links major Australian and New Zealand ports on regular schedules. The first service in place covers Port Kembla and Brisbane in Australia and Northport, Mount Maunganui and Lyttelton in New Zealand. Other services and ports will be added in due course, along with Pacific Islands coverage.
The service is designed to carry breakbulk cargoes such as timber, steel and machinery, as well as specialist container cargoes and bagged bulk cargoes. The geared vessels can handle heavy lifts up to 160mt for project cargoes.
The trans-Tasman service will also provide future container transhipment possibilities over Newcastle and Gladstone to link with our Asia services.

Founding Vision and Ownership Support
Des Euen - Founder
Des Euen is a globally recognised logistics and transport management professional, with more than five decades of experience spanning road, rail, and maritime sectors. As Founder of IPG, Des has remained actively engaged with the Gladstone community, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and GPC, consistently advocating for the PoG to function as an integrated port, rail, and industrial precinct delivering measurable economic, trade, and supply chain benefits to Gladstone, Queensland, and Australia.
Allcap Securities
In 2025, Allcap became the majority owner of IPG, transforming the organisation into a fully backed development consortium capable of delivering nationally significant infrastructure. Through Allcap’s capital support, governance discipline, and strategic advisory capability, the original vision for PoG has evolved into a practical, investment ready development framework.
Allcap has recognised the importance of assembling a high caliber delivery ecosystem, bringing together experienced port and rail operators, shipping and logistics specialists, AI and automation experts, renewable energy partners, and specialised Tier 1 contractors. A number of these participants have invested directly in the project, ensuring strong alignment, shared commitment, and deep technical capability across all elements of the development.
IPG’s shareholding structure therefore combines founding insight and long-term regional understanding with the backing of aligned institutional investors, providing both continuity and the financial capacity to scale. This balance positions IPG to deliver a future ready container terminal that enhances productivity, resilience, and sustained economic growth for GPC, the Gladstone region, Queensland, and Australia, while maintaining clear accountability and delivery focus.
